WHO WE ARE

THE CONCEPT Founded on September 24, 2017 in Cuba and currently based in Barcelona, The Concept is a professional company that explores its own language where urban and contemporary dance merge to tell real and universal stories.

Directed by Javier Peláez (Tulio) and Miguel Álvarez, the company blurs the lines between styles, creating a distinctive, visceral, and highly technical physicality. Comprised of four dancers from different backgrounds, The Concept enhances the unique qualities of each performer , unifying them in a common seal that defends the physical and emotional identity of the collective.

Our mission is to create theatrical experiences that connect emotionally with the audience through movement, transforming each space—be it a theater, a street, or an unconventional location—into a living stage where the body is a vehicle for reflecting, feeling, and recognizing our shared humanity.
